Goji berry (Lycium barbarum), also called wolfberry, is supplied here as one dormant root-crown cutting. It may arrive as a short woody stem with roots and little or no foliage; that dormant appearance is normal for this shipment form.

  • Plant form: 1 dormant root-crown cutting
  • Catalog growing zones: 3–10; confirm local suitability with your extension service
  • Sun: Full sun for best fruiting
  • Habit: Upright shoots with long, arching lateral branches
  • Pollination: Self-fruitful; one plant can set fruit
  • Fruit: Red to red-orange berries

Plant in light, well-drained soil and keep the root zone evenly moist during establishment. Utah State University notes that goji prefers slightly alkaline soil around pH 7–8 and performs poorly where roots remain waterlogged. Once established, plants tolerate some drought, but fruiting and container plants still require appropriate irrigation.

Prune to manage size, remove damaged wood, and keep fruiting branches accessible. Goji can sucker and spread, so allow space or manage new shoots. This plant is not represented as certified organic.

Compare the Goji berry collection and use the Goji growing guide for planting and care.
